1,000 diesel locomotives will be put into service by General Electric which is to invest USD 200 million to develop and supply Indian Railways. The US conglomerate has received an eleven year locomotive supply and maintenance contract, worth approximately USD 2.6 billion, from India’s ministry of railways.
