China Three Gorges Plant output sets world record
The Three Gorges Power Plant, China's largest hydropower project, generated 98.8 TWh of electricity last year, creating a new world record, China Three Gorges Corporation said at the start of year 2015.

That was an increment of 19.3% year on year, and up 0.71% from the previous record of 98.1 TWh in 2012, state media People’s Daily reported.

Last year’s electricity output was equivalent to a reduction of more than 49 million tonnes of raw coal consumption and nearly 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emission.
The last generator of Three Gorges Power Plant started operation in July 2012, enabling the plant to reach world’s largest combined generating capacity of 22.5 GW.
